Sometimes work is tough and the stress of it can really take a toll on your mental health. With so much going on all the time, it often easy to forget that your mental wellbeing should also be a priority.
Though it might be easy to say you know your mental health is important, it usually isn’t that easy to put into practice. You may want to take care of your mental health but still may not have the resources to be able to do so.
Luckily, technology is making it a bit easier to get the help and advice we need to keep our mental health in check. Here are a few apps that’ll make it that much easier to care for your mind.
iOS & Android
This is an app that everybody should have on their phones, and it’s one that I know for certain is used in many workplace environments.
Headspace is a freemium meditation app that offers hundreds of available guided meditation sessions. These bitesize sessions can focus on anything ranging from managing stress to getting a better quality of sleep. What’s even better is that the app is research-backed, meaning that they definitely know what they’re talking about.
Many workplaces recommended Headspace as a mental health app for their employees as it allows you to form strategies of dealing with stress nd coping with overwhelming thoughts.
iOS & Android & Desktop
I absolutely adore Noisli, and you don’t even need to be working to have an excuse to use it. It’s a tool that you can use anywhere, no matter what mindset you’re in.
Noisli gives you the ability to create the perfect background noise to improve your focus and boost your productivity. It can also generally make you feel a lot calmer and more relaxed. Whether you prefer to listen to thunderstorms or crackling fires, it has the perfect, high-quality soundscape for you to listen to. You can even combine the two and create an atmosphere of your very own.
Noisli is great for getting focused on a specific project and knuckling down to do some work, but it’s also excellent to just rewind. If you need to listen to white noise to get to sleep, this app is a must.
iOS & Android
Even though it’s technically not a workplace app, this is definitely a tool that can really help you take care of both your physical and mental states.
Focused around helping you build healthy habits, the Fabulous app works to generate personalised habit plans depending on the user’s goals. The app prompts you to form habits that are going to benefit your wellbeing. Whether it be drinking enough water or practicing meditation, users work to follow daily rituals that are, in fact, proven to make you feel better overall.
This app is excellent if you’re looking to build better habit patterns as it somewhat holds you accountable to what you’re setting out to do. Likewise, it’s helpful that you’re able to tick off what you’ve done, as this allows you to really see your progress.
Getting overwhelmed at work, or letting your stress get the better of you, is natural. However, these three apps provide resources and strategies on how you can cope better.
